Why did you join TSC Membership?

I heard of TSC through clients at our agency, Ninety Five Media. They raved about their experience in this community and encouraged me to join myself. I love joining new groups of entrepreneurial women and I am excited to be here in TSC!

What is a favorite small business you like to shop or support?

One of my favorite small businesses to support is Catherine Cartie – a fellow TSC member and client! She makes the most beautiful art pieces and I just love collecting them myself as well as gifting them to others!

Where do you go to get your inspiration now?

I find so much inspiration by learning from other business owners in podcast interviews! Learning about their experiences, challenges, and how they’ve navigated different seasons of business is so encouraging to know that we all go through similar things. Listening to podcast interviews like this even inspired me to start my own show, The Stop Scrolling, Start Scaling Podcast, and we recently hit 200 episodes which is so exciting.

What is the best business advice you have ever given or received?

The best business advice I’ve ever gotten was to “start before you’re ready.” One thing I’ve learned over and over again is that you truly never feel ready for the next step in business. But the real difference behind those who are successful and those who are waiting is taking the leap. This has single handedly allowed me to scale in ways that “shouldn’t” have been possible, but were, because I started before I was ready.

Why did you join TSC Membership?

I had the honor of hosting a webinar for The Southern C and instantly felt like ‘these are my people.’ Entrepreneurship can be a lonely pursuit. It has been so nice to build new connections and learn about all of the inspiring women and businesses in this community.

What is a favorite small business you like to shop or support?

My favorite part of my job is that I get to work with so many small businesses, and I love supporting them too. As we approach the holiday season, I’m thinking about gifting – and @mechachocolate is always a fan favorite. They make custom chocolates with our logo on them every year that we send to our clients.

Where do you go to get your inspiration now?

My friends are an incredible source of inspiration to me. They are all creative and passionate and I appreciate their points of view. Talking with them helps me whenever I need to get a fresh perspective on a problem or challenge.

What is the best business advice you have ever given or received?

I believe in the power of manifestation, and recently someone told me to make all of my passwords the goal I was trying to manifest. It’s a constant reminder of what you are trying to achieve that has been so effective!

Meet Alexa Archibald of Charm Lane

I’ve spent the last decade working in tech for Facebook & Instagram and previously worked in corporate fashion for J.Crew & Madewell HQ and Lilly Pulitzer. In April of 2023, I set out to combine my backgrounds and launched Charm Lane as a creative project while on maternity leave. It has since become my way to share my love of all things grandmillennial style and I simply adore the Charm Lane community! For the past year, I’ve been designing a jewelry brand, Charm Lane Collection, inspired by the elegance of heirlooms from my grandmother who bravely fought breast cancer (and won!) twice. Every purchase gives back to breast cancer research through sentimental jewelry designed to commemorate life’s most cherished moments.

Why did you join TSC Membership?

I had heard of The Southern C through one of my favorite podcasts – How’d She Do That (hi Emily!!!!) and as I’ve been building my jewelry brand I was searching for a community of female business owners so the stars truly aligned. I couldn’t recommend TSC more for female entrepreneurs! The weekly calls are so inspiring and the member library is unmatched.

What is a favorite small business you like to shop or support?
There are so many but a few are Sips Club, My Haven Collection, Addison Bay, and Penny Linn!

Where do you go to get your inspiration now?

Honestly, everywhere. The other day I was on a walk with my son and saw a box out for recycling that was the most perfect shade of blue. I immediately snapped a picture and added it to my secret Pinterest board.

What is the best business advice you have ever given or received?

You don’t learn to swim by reading about water. I think the magic is in starting and failing fast because my favorite part of the journey is ALWAYS learning along the way. I genuinely enjoy the ride and really ground myself in how grateful I am that I GET to do this.

Meet Morgan Smith of Bellary Jewlery

I’m Morgan, wife, mom of three and shell enthusiast! I love anything that allows me to be creative. Becoming an entrepreneur has given me the opportunity to do what I love while still being present with my family. On my days off, you can find me attempting to play tennis, getting a quick game of messy mahjong in and relaxing with a great cocktail.

Why did you join TSC Membership?

I joined The Southern C to connect with like-minded women and learn from others who have built successful creative businesses. The community is so inspiring! I love hearing stories, sharing ideas, and gaining insight on how to elevate my brand to the next level.

What is a favorite small business you like to shop or support?

Savannah has so many great shops, but a couple favs are Paris Laundry for clean beauty products. If you’ve never been, grab The Everywhere Oil, thank me later! The Horsescrab Monogram is one of my favorites. It’s my go-to spot for everything from a hostess gift to the perfect baby gift.  They truly have it all!
Where do you go to get your inspiration now?

I find most of my inspiration through travel. I love collecting shells from different beaches and turning them into jewelry. Each necklace tells a story and holds a special memory from our adventures.

What is the best business advice you have ever given or received?

Someone once told me, “There’s enough pie for everyone,” and that has always stuck with me. I believe women should support and uplift one another! There is so much beauty in sharing what we know and helping others succeed.
