Schools do hold so many memories! Sadly, all three schools that I attended K-12 in my small hometown of Elba, AL, were lost in a terrible flood back in 1990. New, fabulous facilities took their place but it is just not the same. Still, many years later, when I talk to my oldest friends that I grew up with, we often reminisce about our old schools. Thankfully, the front facade of the old historic high school was saved and now in the footprint of the school, there is a public playground and park area which has been a nice way to pay homage to what was lost.
