The Southern C Fall Retreat in Round Top, Texas is devoted to founders and business owners who are looking to #connectcollaboratecreate with other seasoned entrepreneurs and experts on a more intimate level.  Limited to 125 attendees, the Retreat focuses on education, inspiration, and exploration of Round Top known as “one square mile of wonderful.”  

With talks, tacos, tequila and antiquing on the itinerary, The Southern Coterie brings its signature mix of getting work done on the one who matters most – you – and plenty of adventure to #relaxrechargereignite your entrepreneurial spirit.  

A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health.

Stephanie Summerson Hall is a native of Holly Hill, South Carolina and a current resident of the Lowcountry (Summerville, SC). She graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and then earned a J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 2000. Following law school, she practiced law in the Metropolitan DC area for ten years with a concentration on business law and corporate tax.

In 2005, while still practicing law, Stephanie Hall founded Ruth’s House Event Rentals, a full service event rental company based out of Charleston, SC and Holly Hill, SC. In 2010, she moved back to South Carolina with her husband and young family and took the reigns of Ruth’s House Event Rentals as the CEO and also officially becoming a full-time, serial entrepreneur (she and her husband desired for their children to be raised around grandparents, cousins and have a southern upbringing and that guided their decision to move back to the south). She is also the Co-Founder of Wedding Flowers for Rent – a rent and return wedding flower service. Most recently, she is the founder of Estelle Colored Glass.

Emily Landers is a host, author, and founder of How’d She Do That? LLC.

Upon graduating from Baylor University, Emily worked in Marketing and PR at Footlocker, Inc.’s corporate headquarters in New York City. Emily has since worked as the CEO of a social media startup, consulted countless brands, and continues to work in social media specifically with luxury boutique hotels. 

After a radio hosting role fell through due to the 2020 pandemic, Emily decided to launch her popular podcast, ‘How’d She Do That?’ answering that question each episode. She is passionate about sharing female founders stories and encouraging women to pursue their dreams.

Emily currently resides in Thousand Oaks, California, with her husband, Luke, and Golden-doodle, Maui.

Betsy Cribb is the homes & features editor at Southern Living. She covers a potpourri of topics for print and digital, from profiling Southern movers-and-shakers and celebrating family traditions to highlighting newsy restaurant openings and writing about thoughtfully designed homes. Prior to joining the Southern Living team in 2017 as the style editor, she worked at Coastal Living as an assistant editor covering pets and homes. Betsy grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, but now lives in Birmingham, Alabama. The Crimson Tide has since grown on her; Gulf shrimp have not.

Sandra Campos is an internationally recognized retail CEO and entrepreneur. Her broad experience spans digital and physical retail, international expansion, retail technology and supply chain solutions.

As the CEO of Project Verte, she steered the development of a high growth technology company with tech enabled services. As the CEO of DVF, she worked alongside the iconic founder to reposition the brand with a strong digital presence, a purpose-led marketing strategy, while re-establishing the brand for the future. Sandra has also led Iconic international brands such as Juicy Couture, Bebe, and BCBG.

As an entrepreneur, she created one of the original celebrity brand management companies that built brands for exclusive retailers. Her company launched Selena Gomez’s lifestyle collection in the teen space across fourteen categories in six countries.

Ms. Campos has been named a 2021 Latina of Influence, a 2021 Female Founders Alliance Champion, a top 100 Latina Leaders by Latino Leaders Magazine, was one of 2019 Top Leaders in Business by Hispanic Executive Magazine, DealMakeHERS, named a 2020 Top Woman in Retail and was honored by Girls Inc. Sandra advises various consumer products startups, has helped take two SPACs public in 2021 as part of the advisory team for Athena Technology Acquisition Corp, and on the management team of ShoulderUp Technology Acquisition Corp. Sandra is on the Board of Directors for Big Lots and is also the founder of Fashion Launchpad, a digital edtech platform.

Hunter Bell

Born and raised in the small town of Florence, SC, Hunter studied fashion design and studio art at the  University of Alabama. She spent summers interning in New York, and after graduation returned to further her design education at Parsons New School. In 2013 Hunter was named the winner of ABC’s hit show Fashion Star, and set out on her own to re-launch her new label, Hunter Bell NYC. The line has become hugely popular, and today is carried in over 180 retailers worldwide.

Hunter currently lives in Houston, Texas with her husband and three children. While she is a proud South Carolinian at heart and credits her 12 years in New York for the indispensable life and career lessons, Hunter now considers herself a proud Texan. “Texas is my home. It’s where all my children were born and where we are putting down roots. I was initially nervous about the transition from New York, but my company has seen enormous growth here and I’m forever grateful for that!”

Jackie Thomson

Jackie Thomson founded of Counsel in early 2022 after co-owning and expanding the Charleston-based lifestyle pr firm, leapfrog, for 13 years. Her consultancy focuses on promoting female founders in the design and style space with a focused approach on brand development through media and influencer relations, events and strategic partnerships. The term of Counsel refers to her team’s hands-on approach to brand building and the partnerships that she builds with long-term clients.

Jackie earned her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston, then moved to New York for a buying position at GUCCI, and then to grow the wholesale business for bridal and evening wear designer Reem Acra. She later returned to Charleston to join, and later take over leapfrog’s design-related projects. Her wide-ranging interests in lifestyle-related categories drives of Counsel’s expertise in the fields of fashion and design. Beyond the realm of traditional PR, Jackie enjoys honing brand strategy, content creation, and developing market positioning for her clients.

Annemarie Dillard is the Vice President of Online Experience and Digital Marketing for national department store retailer and familial legacy, Dillard’s.  A Little Rock, Arkansas native, Annemarie took to Los Angeles attending the University of Southern California, and from there laid the foundation of DIllard’s contemporary offering as it is today, taking on the role as Director of Contemporary Sportswear Buying and Merchandising, which she still presently oversees.  In addition to navigating increased online demand through the pandemic, Annemarie recently launched The Edit by D3, an instagram account with corresponding space on Dillards.com, featuring a curated offering of her and her sisters (Alexandra Dillard – VP of Merchandising, and Michelle Hobbs- Director of Exclusive Brand Shoes) personal favorite selections within Dillard’s.  She currently resides in Arkansas with her husband and three children, and sits on a number of boards for both startup and non-profit organizations.
