How do you personally define balance in your life and is it achievable?

Balance for me looks off balance. I am successful at adapting and shapeshifting and coming up with plan A, B, C etc. When things don’t go to plan, it is always important to come up with the next best thing.

How do you find time for yourself with such a busy schedule?

Carving out little moments of the day for Joy, fun, beauty in my day. Elevate my coffee with a pretty ceramic mug, set boundaries with time for myself, arranging floral arrangements for my home. We wear so many hats, it usually takes me a day to assume my role as a mother. Grounding has really helped me get back to myself.

If someone is struggling to find time for self care, what would you recommend?

Don’t try to organize your whole house in one day. Try to pinpoint the thing that is bothering you the most and start there. I would ignore checking in with myself mentally and it would build up. For example, I watched a video this morning that was 11 minutes from a Christian concert that will be my anchor for the rest of the day.

How do you shift your perspective when you are such a perfectionist?

You can’t have fun if you are so hyper focused on being perfect. Pregnancy was the biggest wake up call for me because it was messy and out of my control. Pick someone that you think is successful, but not because they’re perfect. If I’m at the point where I’m spiraling, I refer back to that person and what advice they would give me. Journaling is helpful when you write down…

What does an imperfect day mean to you?

The bad days are doing something I wish I wouldn’t have done. If I was on tv or competing and didn’t represent myself the way I wanted to. At home, it would be snapping at my children or being perceived as being mean.

What are some small but powerful daily habits for staying grounded when life gets hectic?

Radically take care of your body. The one thing that I make myself do everyday, is get up and take care of myself. That can be as simple as washing your face, going on a walk, simple things that are taking care of yourself.

Why is surrounding yourself with light and energy so important to you?

I want my home to be surrounded by life and different personalities that brings me joy.

How does cleaning and reorganizing help your reset or feel grounded again?

It’s hard to transition from work to mom mode, it’s usually a quick transition. Figure out how to take the moments that are mundane and sometimes dreadful and turn those into fun little moments that become more enjoyable.

How do you recover from your failures?

I remember when my first restaurant failed and it was because let them theory , let them in life, listen to them in business. I was too stubborn to not listen or respect the masses when it came to my business. Decide when you

How do you handle self doubt and the expectations that are put on women?

It’s important to acknowledge that this is not how life was originally intended regarding working and raising a home. It is not possible to come home and do it all.

This is a “let them” moment. Let others judge you based on their expectations. Fail them, just don’t fail yourself.

There will be times that you think you’re wasting your time, but if they are getting you to your end goal, than those things are not only necessary but important. Know what your goal is.

One piece of advice for women who are juggling it all?

Stop juggling it all. Figure out what your goal is for example being a good Mom and being a good wife. Don’t be disappointed or guilty when you can’t do something that doesn’t align with your end goals.
