Sophia Kanavos

Sophia Kanavos is the Vice President of Finance and Acquisitions at Flag Luxury Group, a real estate development company with a primary focus on luxury hotels, residential, land based retail and entertainment across major gateway cities such as Miami, Orlando, Las Vegas and New York City. Driven by her passion for real estate and hospitality, Sophia attended Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration where she received a B.S. in Hotel Administration and a minor in Real Estate.

Prior to her current role, Sophia joined Starwood Capital Group on the Originations team for Starwood Property Trust (NYSE: STWD). Sophia currently serves on the Young Friends Steering Committee of Save Venice, which is the largest private foundation that restores art and architecture in Venice. She is the co-founder of Women’s Power Series, an organization whose mission is to empower female entrepreneurs and business professionals by creating a platform for women to come together, share their stories, and learn from each other’s experiences. She has been an active volunteer and supporter of organizations including New Yorker’s for Children, Memorial Sloan Kettering and The Whitney Museum.
