Paul McIlhenny “The Scion of Spice” passed away this weekend in New Orleans. His family business was founded in 1868 on Avery Island, Louisiana. He was the sixth family member to be president of the company. In addition to his business acumen, he was an avid sportsman, conservationist and respected voice regarding Louisiana’s coastland and wetland preservation.
