TAILGATING TIPS
With Football Season officially kicking-off, here are a few ideas for making your tailgate one of the plays of the day! It is easy to add school colors to your lunch/brunch/dinner! Jones Sodas, Izze Sodas, and others come in several colors and you can mix and match to toast your alma mater! My friend, Amy Cushorn, put together this great tailgate, and used glass bottles with the famous lemonade from Toomer’s Corner (a huge tradition on the Plains). Amy added striped straws and cute flags to the drinks to add the team colors. I wanted to share with you how great it turned out! These ideas are kid-friendly as well as spot-on for adults!
Along with your favorite tailgating recipes, serve a fruit salad in the team colors, too! It is a great way to balance all of those hearty foods and add some color!
And, I love the vintage flair that Amy used to top-off the cupcakes she made for dessert! These also give the kids a little something extra to play with- they can line up a team and let their favorites win again and again! And, don’t you love the pigskin cupcake wrappers? Fun and easy! Go team!
