Ready for Fall!

Anyone ready for fall? I sure am! Cooler weather, football, bonfires, pumpkin-flavored everything, oyster roasts, Halloween, Thanksgiving… fall is fabulous! That first snap of cool weather is surely around the corner and it’s time to put together some transitional clothing to bridge the gap from the Southern summer heat to the crisp autumn air.

Of course, every self-respecting Southerner’s white linen pants and white shoes have gone into hibernation until Easter, but don’t be reluctant to wear your white jeans this time of year. It’s ok… really! Keep them out as they pair beautifully with a denim shirt and leopard print flats or a sweater and leather boots. When selecting clothing that will carry you over til winter, think solid colors that are reflective of the season – cream, brown, gray, plum, indigo, army green, orange, gold – and look for pieces with a light to mid-weight texture. Punch up with a scarf, statement piece of jewelry or purse, add a wrap or blazer and you’re ready to go! Some ensemble ideas to inspire you…
