Here is a quick hit of what I am thinking for a small dinner gathering of family and friends after the holiday in celebration of the New Year. You can click each photo to go to the recipe or link where I found it.

Serve a specialty drink along with your open bar, wine and beer – here is a great coastal one Chatham Artillery Punch…

Mushroom puffs, can be made ahead and frozen…

Oysters on the half shell…I will also make some baked with spinach (Oysters Rockefeller)…

Let Emeril Lagasse show you (video) how to make this New Orleans’ Recipe for Oysters Rockefeller…

Peel and Eat Shrimp with fabulous sauces…

Dixie Caviar cups to get the lucky black-eyed peas on the menu…

Paula Deen will show you (video) how to do a fabulous Bourbon Beef Tenderloin to serve with horseradish sauce and yeast rolls…

Dessert should be pick up and easy and yummy too, cupcakes…

A playlist of fun Alternative Country that I picked up from Griffin Bufkin on spotify will be a great tone/tunes for the gathering.

Here are a few flower inspirations from The Vine on St. Simons Island…

CHEERS and welcome 2013! My husband is threatening European austerity on me for the new year but I am ignoring him and planning to collect some of our friends and family for a fabulous welcome to 2013. I just have to get the Bulldog bowl game behind me so it will be a post NYE celebration. To me special experiences will trump his tight budget.

If you have some suggestions let me know. Happy New Year!

Sounds like my kind of party! My invite must have gotten lost in the busy holiday mail, haha 🙂
