Modern Charm

Raleigh-based retailer (and Summit alum) Moon & Lola celebrated the opening of their fifth retail store last week and we couldn’t be happier for their success! To be honest, we aren’t surprised–we love the way this brand is putting their own modern spin on Southern style. And we aren’t alone. Moon & Lola’s designs have landed them on “Oprah’s Favorite Things” for multiple years and ladies throughout the South (and beyond) are sporting their fun and colorful charm bracelets.

So we are thrilled that they are bringing a sampling of the popular “charm bar” to this year’s Summit. During our Thursday cocktail hour, attendees will be able to meet founder Kelly Shatat in person and shop charms for their own custom bracelets. In anticipation, three of us here at Team Southern C headed to Moon & Lola’s online shop and designed bracelets of our own. Call us suckers for all things Southern.

Here’s what we picked…

Southern C co-founder Cheri Leavy went with a Summit theme–a gold Nora bangle with a hashtag charm (for all the social media happening at #tscsummit2016), a large gold mirrored pineapple charm (the symbol of hospitality and Charleston), a cotton pearl charm (Southern to the core), a palm tree charm (for South Carolina) and an initials charm (always love a good monogram!).

Southern C co-founder Whitney Long mixed it up with her initials–a metal charm with a “W” initial, an acrylic charm in tortoise with the letter “L”–a charm for her home state of Alabama, a cotton pearl charm (classic Southern style) and a mirrored palm tree charm for the island/coastal life she loves on Saint Simons Island.

I went with an homage to family–the Nora bangle in gold, the silhouette of my home state of Texas, a medium block letter “P” for my surname, a small boy silhouette charm and the number “3” for my three boys.

We are looking forward to getting our bracelets just in time for the Summit!
