How to Quickly & Easily Take Photos for Your Social Media
Taking photos for social media can seem like a daunting task. Everyone has such beautiful feeds and you think it is hard to compete since you aren’t a photographer. BUT…this isn’t the case at all! Using these 5 tips you can easily and quickly take lots of amazing photos for your social media!
1. Find the natural light.
Find the location you are going to shoot in, and if it is indoors, make sure that it is near a window so you can maximize the natural light. Remember, natural light is by far the most beautiful and flattering light!
2. Collect all your props in advance.
Create a plan for what you hope to get out of the shoot and gather your props accordingly. Have all your props within reach during your shoot so you can quickly and efficiently change props in and out of the photo. Also, try storing your props in different containers or baskets by color, that way you can quickly and easily grab the container with the color props you need.
3. Gather your backgrounds in advance.
For the same reason as above, you want to have your backgrounds nearby so you can easily switch them in and out without wasting a lot of time. Remember to keep the backgrounds consistent with your brand colors and style! If your brand is bright and vibrant, go for the bright white! If you brand is rustic, use that worn looking wood for a background.
4. Once you start shooting, use lots of different angles.
Shoot from overhead, from eye level and from different sides. This way you can get lots different photos out of just one set up.
5. Don’t be afraid to use your phone camera!
You can get great photos with your phone and edit them using some great apps like Snapseed & A Color Story. Remember, keep your editing consistent and don’t over do it! The less editing the better!
The goal is always to get as many photos for social media in the shortest amount of time. Using the 5 tips above you will be able to easily fill your feeds with beautiful, on-brand photos that didn’t take you all day to style and photograph!
