How to Blind-Seam Wrap a Gift!

I’m sure all of you are busy bees wrapping up your gifts with care so I wanted to show you an easy way to blind-seam wrap a gift. Blind-seam wrapping allows you to wrap a gift without the seam of paper and tape showing. I also love using alternative options for ribbon, adornments and gift wrapping options. I tend to buy all occasion gift wrap and change out the ribbon and colors depending on the season. This year, I went with lots of metallics and mixed animal prints and mixed in red and emerald ribbons. I also love using my Signature Gift Tags from my Shoppe. I LOVE wrapping gifts so I was tickled to get dolled up and wrap some of my favorite treats. Here’s a step-by-step instruction on how to blind-seam wrap a gift. Step 1: Cut your paper to the appropriate size of your box – allowing the edges to cover a little over half of the box thickness.

Step 2: Adhere your paper to the box – anywhere will work just fine.

Step 3: Completely cover your box with the gift wrap.

Step 4: When the gift wrap is completely covering the box, allow the overlap to lay over 1 side/edge of the box, press down along the edge with your fingers so that you crease the paper along the edge of the box.

Step 5: Using the crease as a guide, fold the excess paper under and create a folded edge down the side of the box.

Step 6: Place double sided tape underneath the fold and adhere to the box – creating a blind-seam effect on the edge.

Step 7: Finish off the sides of the box with standard wrapping methods.

Step 8: Using your fingers, press and crease all of the edges of your package to create a clean tight look.

Step 9: Estimate the length of your ribbon to criss-cross wrap your box. Fold the ribbon in half and cut on a diagonal to create a flag edge.

Step 10: Lay the ribbon across 1 length of the box, turn the box over and criss cross the ribbon, wrapping it around the remaining length of the box.

Step 11: Once you’ve turned the box back to the top side, feed the edges of the ribbon underneath the existing ribbon on each side.

Step 12: Pull and extend the edges of the ribbon and begin to tie the first stages of a box – the same as tying your shoelace. The ribbon will automatically tighten around the box without having to hold down the ribbon – instant tightly wrapped bow!
