I haven’t posted a crockpot recipe in almost a month so it is time! While browsing Pinterest I came across this method for cooking a pork loin. I like this recipe because it has 4 ingredients and the pork is tender and flavorful after cooking all day with the apples. I’ll admit cooking with apples has a fall flair but the weather in Virginia lately has everyone talking about fall so a fall recipe seems appropriate. Are you ready for a change of seasons? I could use another month of summer personally but I’ve always dreaded the back-to-school commercials and return of cooler weather.
What to buy (serves 3-4):
- 2-3 pound pork loin
- 3 sliced red apples
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
What to do:
- layer apple slices in the bottom of the crockpot and sprinkle with cinnamon
- cut slits in the pork loin, add to crockpot on top of apple slices and insert an apple slice into each slit
- drizzle honey into the slits and sprinkle with cinnamon
- place any remaining apples slices around pork
- cook on low for 6-7 hours
