Low Country Elegance – High Tech Living – HGTV® Smart Home 2018
Forget what you know about smart, beautiful homes because the HGTV® Smart Home 2018 is setting a new standard and you can win it by heading to HGTV.com!

Full disclosure, representing Forest Home Media, I had the pleasure of helping coordinate the influencer day for the HGTV Smart Home 2018 in South Carolina’s beautiful Palmetto Bluff community near Bluffton and so many smart Southern C alums joined us!

Low Country Elegance
Moments from the May River and a short kayak ride to the Atlantic Ocean, the natural surroundings impacted the design of the gorgeous two-story coastal sanctuary with pretty outdoor living spaces nestled in the private resort community developed by Palmetto Bluff Development, LLC.
Industrial lighting and imaginative uses of wood paneling offer modern twists, while the porches and surrounding outdoor spaces, including a grilling area and a separate four-seat fire pit, bring sanctuary and relaxation to make this the perfect “smart” getaway.

The home spans approximately 2,850 square feet with a stunning kitchen and three bedrooms. The custom cabinets throughout the home are also packed with smart features: A hidden laundry basket on rails between the laundry room and master closet and a coffee pot lift in the master bathroom have been installed, among other features. The kitchen also includes a pull-out recycle center, mixer lift, pull-out knife and utensil organizer and more.

The home features smart technology, clever design solutions and energy-efficient materials throughout that blend perfectly with Southern style. Check out this video tour.
Designer Tiffany Brooks

HGTV Smart Home 2018 host and interior designer Tiffany Brooks took cues from her surroundings to infuse the home with luxurious low country style. Light walls with playful textiles and patterns provide the perfect backdrop for the casual furnishings, creating a comfortable, calm and airy atmosphere.

High-Tech Living
The home is filled with smart use of space and the master bath is filled with clever innovation.

The closet features Storage Motion Inc. ShoeSelect™: ShoeSelect™ – an automated shoe storage solution with motorized shoe shelves that rotate and maximize storage space. The carousel begins to rotate with the simple touch of a button.

Both the master bathroom and powder room at the home features the Numi Toilet with remote, which is Kohler’s most advanced toilet. The motion-activated cover and seat uses sensors for hands-free opening and closing. It also includes a heated seat and foot warmer.
Win HGTV® Smart Home 2018
Planned by local architecture firm Markalunas Architecture Group and constructed by local builder Shoreline Construction, the home is part of a grand prize package valued at over $1.6 million that will be awarded this summer. In addition to the residence and all its furnishings, the winner will receive a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e Plug-In Hybrid and a $100,000 cash prize provided by national mortgage lender Quicken Loans®.

The sweepstakes period for the HGTV Smart Home Giveaway 2018 runs through 5 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 7, and eligible viewers can enter twice per day at HGTV.com and sign up for daily email reminders. Also visit HGTV’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages for updates and new details (#HGTVSmart).
Here is my question. Where is the food storage in this kitchen? No pantry cabinets except two shallow ones for can storage. And no pantry, which all other homes have had. For a large and beautiful kitchen that really seems like a miss.
The screened in patio is beautiful but what about security and weather protection. Is there a window that slides shut or does all that furniture need to be moved when the weather is bad?
