Culinary – Top Five Pumpkin Recipes from The Southern C
I love when fall is in the air and all the recipes and ingredients associated with the season- pumpkins, acorn squash, apples, nuts and spices – pop up online and in grocery stores, farmer’s markets and roadside stands. Yum, yum, yum!
This means one thing… it’s time to head to the kitchen and try some recipes from our pumpkin recipe round-up! With Halloween tomorrow, pumpkins have been everywhere for weeks now. Once the costumes and decorations are put away, it’s time to start thinking about Thanksgiving and how to use pumpkins beyond carving them and decorating with them.
While there are so many ways to decorate with pumpkins (see our “Holidays” Pinterest board http://www.pinterest.com/thesouthernc/holidays/ for lots of greats ideas), there hundreds and hundreds of delicious recipes to be found online featuring this healthy fruit. Yes, it really is part of the fruit family though it is often mistaken for a vegetable. Don’t believe me? Look it up… I had to!
For my pumpkin recipe hit list, I searched our social network- The Southern C – and found my top five recipes that I want to try. See these delicious recipes from our Southern C contributors, members and friends and get a head start on your Thanksgiving menu, too!
