CREATIVES: Entrepreneur to Watch – Jean Daniel
Over the past twenty years, Jean Daniel has assisted numerous families and corporate entities select the most appropriate portrait artists for their specific needs. As former President & National Sales Director for one of the oldest and largest national portrait agencies, she enjoys the privilege of helping guide and develop the careers of many talented and acclaimed portrait artists. We loved having Jean at the Summit last spring in Charleston. She is a dynamo and we are so proud of her launching her own business in Raleigh.
We asked Jean to share some of her entrepreneurial spirit here–
Inspiration:
My life-long love of art & portraiture and my desire to create an avenue for sharing this with others was the inspiration behind starting my own business.
Theme Song:
“Happy Days Are Here Again”
Fave book or author:
Soul Keeping by John Ortberg.
Favorite charity:
Non-profit entities who incorporate art as a way to support children faced with major heath issues.
#1 skill/attribute needed to be an entrepreneur:
Knowledge, Commitment & Integrity
Role model:
Women artists, like Cecilia Beaux and Mary Cassatt, who have influenced and shaped the field of portraiture.
Favorite social media:
This varies~ I like the social media outlets which are most efficient and user friendly for my clients.
Favorite quote:
“Art is, after all, only a trace~like a footprint which shows that one has walked bravely and in great happiness.” – Robert Henri
Interesting tidbit about you or your business:
While commissioned portraiture never goes out of style, I am enjoying the interest shown by clients and artists who are embracing a more individual style.
