Heery’s Trunk Show with jewelry designer Alice Trahant of Empire State Finery

Wednesday, August 12th from 1 – 5 p.m.

Empire State Finery was founded by Paige Booker and Alice Trahant in Georgia, the Empire State of the South. Their line of hand crafted necklaces pays homage to their southern heritage and features seemingly disparate elements – from vintage vinyl to salmon vertebrae, boars tusk to bullet shells.

BMA Home Art Event celebrating HANNAH BETZEL’S #100DAYSOFABANDON

Thursday, August 13th from 6 – 8 p.m.
Artist meet and greet from 5 -6 p.m.

Artists, join them for an artist meet-and-greet from 5-6 pm to get to know other Athens’ artists, as well as hear what the My Athens organization has planned to promote local artists on their blog and their Instagram feed (13,000+ followers!). It is a great opportunity to meet other talented artists and potentially be included in a future My Athens feature.

Join BMA Home as they shine a spotlight on artistic process through the work of Athens’ artist Hannah Betzel.

For 100 consecutive days, Hannah challenged herself to create a mixed-media piece in under one hour in an effort to abandoning over thinking and allow her creativity to flow. Go see how her art evolved and talk to Hannah about how it changed her artistic process.
