Southern Studio Interior Design in Apex, North Carolina was founded in 2001 by Vicky Serany. She was educated in interior design and studio art at Meredith College in Raleigh and is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers and volunteers with the Carolinas chapter of ASID.

Vicky is well known and respected in the homebuilding industry. Her clients love her and can’t imagine the completed projects happening without her. She makes fast friends with her clients and the process of creating a timeless home is fun and fulfilling for all.

This Carolina gal found it hard to whittle down to her favorites but she did here…

FABRIC COLLECTION:

This can change daily. Today I’m loving the Bukhara Collection from Clarke & Clarke and the Barbara Barry Collection from Kravet.

CHINA PATTERN:

Kate Spade’s collection for Lenox is classic and flexible for creating a beautiful tablescape. For everyday use, I love the versatility of the white porcelain Pantry Collection from Williams-Sonoma. Keep it simple and the meal becomes the statement!

PAINT COLOR:

It’s nearly impossible to choose just one, but a few of my current favorites are Sherwin Williams Alpaca (SW7022) with accents of Sea Salt (SW6204) and Iron Ore (SW7069). My favorite overall collection is the Colors of Historic Charleston by Duron/Sherwin Williams.

DESIGN BLOG:

Although it’s not a true design blog, Positively Positive provides inspiration to stay focused on what’s truly important in the big picture of life. COCOCOZY and Elements of Style provide creative and beautiful design inspiration.

CANDLE:

For scented beauty, Bougainvillea’s Mulling Spice and Black Velvet are fabulous. My favorite daily go-to candles are from Vance Kitarra and come in a rainbow of gorgeous colors.

DESIGNERS:

I love the beautiful and inspired spaces by Suzanne Kasler and the refined simplicity of Mariette Himes Gomez. My greatest design inspiration, however, comes from the creative spirit of the talented designers I work with every day.

ARTIST:

Susan Hecht is not only a talented artist, but a wonderful friend. Her work is a true representation of Southern charm and beauty.

COLLECTION:

A lifelong collection of seaglass and sand from beaches I’ve visited are my most precious collections. A close second is my growing collection of signed and dated wine corks from bottles shared with those I care about most.

SOUTHERN ESSENTIAL:

A hand-written note on beautiful stationery. My current favorite is from bell’ INVITO. The paper is pure luxury.

Vicky’s STYLE IN FIVE WORDS OR LESS:

Beautiful. Inspired. Comfortable.Timeless. Collected.
