Coterie Crush on Design Darling Mary Bryan Peyer
It’s easy to explain my Coterie Crush on Mary Bryan Peyer because she is one of the most popular designers on the coast of Georgia selected not only for her talents but because she is a ton of fun to work with on your home.
She helped me get our island abode ready for the Christ Church Tour of Homes and if you can handle a homeowner’s husband through that then you are a gifted diplomat! This must be especially true if able to bring in two Schiaperelli pink sexy chairs that he is able to admire and withstand the teasing of his fraternity brothers when they visit.
Mary Bryan has an incredible eye and is one of the best editors I have seen in action. Her classic aesthetic incorporates fabulous unexpected touches here and there. She has a gift for designing an elegant living space but it is always grounded in functional which is probably why the hubbies approve.
I hope you enjoy visiting with her here.
At the moment Mary Bryan Peyer from St. Simons Island LOVES…
fabric collection:
I’m loving Romo‘s newest prints. They have a retro vibe combined with an updated and unexpected color palette.
china pattern:
I adore the B.C. Collection from Annieglass. The frosted glass and organic shapes are perfect for any tablescape – from formal to very casual.
paint color:
My newest favorite is from Sherwin-Williams, Toque White #7003. It’s the perfect white with a slight hint of grey.
candle:
Have to admit that I enjoy scent less candles in as many spots in my home as possible!
shop for antiques:
You can never go wrong with Parc Monceau and The Gables in Atlanta , and Low Country Antiques in St. Simons Island.
artist:
My fantastic first cousin, Sally King Benedict!
interior designers:
Completely admire my dear friend Miles Redd‘s wonderful interpretation of explosive color in his interiors.
to collect:
I don’t collect anything, but in the words of William Morris, “Have nothing in your home that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”
about the south:
Love boiled peanuts, azaleas, and the progressive Atlanta design community.
Mary Bryan’s style in five words or less:
refined, edited, functional, traditional with a twist.
