Coterie Crush on Design Darling Liz Williams of Atlanta, Georgia
We have a Coterie Crush on Liz Williams from Atlanta, Georgia. Her designs have a sense of place influenced by growing up in the South and trips to the coast as well as graduating from College of Charleston. We know she is proud of her current cover feature article in this month’s Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine. Chances are you have admired her team’s work in numerous publications over the last decade. This is a tastemaker to watch in the South. Enjoy checking out her favorite finds. Two that are on my wishlist as well are the Becky Davis Botanicals and the custom china from Provvista.
Fabric collection:
I love Galbraith and Paul fabrics! Their fresh patterns are so much fun to use and the custom aspects of their line are great. They have 37 different patterns that are hand block printed on a choice of 6 different grounds (linens and velvets) and you can choose from 100 colors.
China pattern:
Provvista Designs Custom Italian Dinnerware is beautiful. It is made to order in Italy with your custom monogram and Provvista was born in the South! The classic and timeless dinnerware is worthy of becoming a family heirloom.
Design blog:
I enjoy reading The Peak of Chic blog. This blog is devoted to style and design now and in the past. It is fun to see how Jennifer Boles show how a feature in a 1970s issue of Southern Accents relates to design today. She also throws in some great cocktail recipes on occasion!
Farrow & Ball’s Lichen is a great paint color! Inside it works as a great neutral. I love art wall painted in Full Gloss Lichen. It is also great outside as doors or shutters.
I adore everything in Parc Monceau Antiques Ltd! They have such a diverse and interesting collection of the finest antiques. I can always count on Holland and Company/MacRae Designs at ADAC for great continental antiques. If they don’t have the perfect piece, their European workshop can make it for you through their Aged Reproduction line. I head to South of Market when looking for unusual, sometimes industrial statement pieces.
Artist:
I love Elizabeth Stockton‘s beautiful Marsh scenes. They are very soothing and remind me of Charleston, where I went to college, and also summers spent on St. Simons Island and Sea Island.
Interior designer:
There are so many! I do love Katie Ridder and Miles Redd (former classmate of mine growing up in Atlanta) for there amazing use of color and the unexpected. Carter Kay is my local fave and was my mentor.
Collection:
I collect antique/vintage white Ironstone china. I like to pick up pieces at Atlanta’s monthly antiques show Scott Antique Market, but have also found some unusual pieces on eBay.
The next collection I would like to start is Becky Davis Botanicals. I have used them in clients’ homes See below) and would love to have some of my own! I love her beautiful ferns, grasses, and leaves. They come in varied sizes and all they need is a simple black or gold frame. Another nod to the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Southern Essential:
Southern Food! Four of my favorite cookbooks…
