COMPILATION: Burgers and Dogs

What’s more American than hamburgers and hot dogs? Here’s my list for these American classics down South.

The Varsity – Atlanta and Athens Georgia

75 years and still going… What’ll ya have?

Gus’s – Birmingham, AL

Gus is a hot dog legend in Birmingham. Thanks to my grandmother, I got hooked on dogs “all the way” from an early age.

The Grill – Athens, GA

Open 24 hours – thank goodness. P.S. they have old school milkshakes.

The Royal Peasant – Athens, GA

The “Royale with Cheese” continues to be the front runner of burgers in my book. Brioche bun, butter lettuce, bacon, shallots, cheddar, ketchup and spicy mustard… doesn’t get much getter than that.

Farm Burger – Atlanta Area and Asheville

You can build your own or choose one of their creative options. Big fan of the Bahn Mi burger I had in Buckhead. Bonus: they have beer floats for dessert!

Holeman and Finch – Atlanta, GA

Via

I have yet to try one of their famous burgers but I want one real bad.

I Dream of Winnie – Nashville

Gourmet hot dogs being served out of a VW bus? Yes please. Slaw Dog all the way.

Happy 4th y’all!
