Blackberry Pepper Fizz

black pepper fizz

We got an early taste of spring in Richmond this week, and I’m reveling in it. The windows are open in the house, there are daffodils blooming in the yard, I even managed to go running a couple times (and you know the weather must be good if it inspires me to exercise). So today I’ve got a bright, fizzy cocktail that’s just the thing for porch sipping.
Muddled blackberry and freshly-squeezed lemon juice bring the sweet and tart spring flavors, while Beauregard Southern Dixie black pepper vodka and freshly ground pepper create balance with earthiness and a bit of bite. If you’ve never tried the combination of black pepper and fresh berries then trust me, you’re in for a treat today. Topped with a splash of fizzy soda, it’s just the thing to cap off this gorgeous week.

BLACKBERRY PEPPER FIZZ

A handfull blackberries
1 tbs simple syrup
Juice of half a lemon
2 ounces Beauregard Dixie Southern Black Pepper Vodka
Club soda
Freshly cracked black pepper

In a cocktail glass, muddle blackberries, syrup, and lemon juice with a muddler or wooden spoon. Add vodka and stir. Fill glass with crushed ice, then top with club soda. Add a pinch of freshly cracked black pepper. Sip while sitting on a porch with friends, if at all possible.

Enjoy!
