Here we are, already midway into the first month of the new year!  It’s really still the honeymoon phase –  our plans are big, our goals are lofty, we are motivated and upbeat.   We plot and plan to take the bull by the horns in 2015 and we should!  The new year brings out the best of our intentions and goals as we acknowledge where we are and where we want to be.  But the truth is, life gets in the way.  Resolutions are broken, good intentions are forgotten, or more often than not, we simply don’t have the time to execute.

Don’t fret because the beauty is that every day is a new day and we get to start over when our feet hit the ground.  Don’t let a failed resolution discourage you the rest of the year.  Simply pick up where you left off.  I am looking at my resolutions as long-term goals for the year and I have promised myself that if at first I don’t succeed, I will try and try and try again!  I am focusing on three areas this year to improve my physical and mental health:

What’s the next big thing in exercise? Find something new and exciting on this list and head to a class.

Healthier eating goes hand in hand with exercise. I’m a huge salad lover so I plan to really dig into this list of recipes.  Make it for dinner then have leftovers the next day for lunch.

Eating “cleaner”  is also on my mind – smart choices and preparation of my food with these easy recipes.

Speaking of clean, purging and organizing help to clear my mind and make things run more efficiently.

With four kids and a dog, I need all the tips I can get for a clean home!

With my office being in the above mentioned home, it is command central for work and for my job as a “domestic engineer” so I will definitely be looking to these ideas for savvy organizing help.

Staying inspired and motivated is often easier said than done. We all need a little affirmation. Find a quote  from this list that speaks to you, write it on a note card and stick it in a place where you see it everyday! Let it become your motivation mantra.

Look to others for inspiration, wisdom and insight when you feel yours lagging. I ran across this list with great advice from some most impressive entrepreneurs.   One word… wow!
