Mary Dell Harrington
I am a native Texan and still think of “home” as Fort Worth, despite living the better part of my adult life far away from the Lone Star State. I grew up there and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, a school and a city I will always love.
I left home to attend graduate school at Harvard and, after earning my MBA, accepted a job at NBC where I had the privilege of walking into 30 Rock every day for ten years. Working in NYC had always been a dream and the television business suited me perfectly.
My return ticket to Texas just kept getting delayed. I met and married my husband, had two kids, and a succession of chocolate Labradors. We bought a stone-front Colonial home and established roots in Larchmont, New York, north of the city.
Two significant events happened to me in 2012: My husband and I discovered St Simons Island where we love to escape as often as possible. Secondly, I co-founded a blog, Grown and Flown: Parenting from the Empty Nest with Lisa Heffernan, where we write about parenting kids 15-25. Our writing has appeared in the Huffington Post and the Washington Post parenting blog. I also write for ASPCA Parents and, with two big crazy labs at home, have no shortage of material.<< Find More Team Members
